I visited The Central Market, known as the Mercado Central Valencia on the 16th April 2019. This was my first visit to the Central Market and I was blown away by not only the contents, the fruit, the meats, the cheese but by the building itself.
This building was built between the 1914 and 1928 architect Enrique Viedma Vidal, the design is of Valencian Art Nouveau. This market is one of the biggest in Europe and definitely one of the best, in my opinion. It consists of 8000 square meters on two floors. The dome I found incredible, its a stunning architectural design. The roof is full of wood, steel girders with coloured glass at the rear entrance. The roof has different sections which are sloping in different directions. If you have never been to the Central Market Valencia than you must definitely put it on your bucket list.
